Introducing a splendidly British new brand: Willow & Lark

LoveKnitting |

We’d like to introduce a splendidly British new yarn brand – ladies and gentlemen, please meet Willow & Lark!

willow & lark

Willow & Lark’s yarns celebrate classic Britishness in all its glory, from apple crumbles and lemon drizzle cake to striding out in wellies through the woodland or marching around a castle. These bright new yarns with accompanying patterns have been crafted and designed to reflect the delightful quirkiness of Britain – evoking natural landscapes in the colour palette, and original thinking in design.

Meet the yarns!

Ramble, wool, wool and more wool

As robust as it is delicious, this super soft DK superwash wool is full of loft and character, with a good twist and exemplary stitch definition. It’ll keep you as warm as toast, and its glorious colour palette is full of character! Perfect for colourwork – combine Bluebell and Lichen Green, Rhubarb Pink with Lemon Drizzle – it’s a Fair Isle fan’s dream.

Willow & Lark Elizabeth

Elizabeth – a riot of Rasperry and Night Sky Navy

Elizabeth is a fabulous Fair Isle jumper knit in Ramble, showing off the wonderful stitch definition that comes from such a perfect twist – but it isn’t just colourwork that blooms in Ramble, the Victoria jumper and Catherine scarf both show off its loft and structure in classic cables and textured stitches.  Eclectic, original Willow & Lark design shines through in the Charlotte Cardigan with its Fair Isle yoke worn inside out to show off those usually-hidden back stage stitches!

Plume, barely there silk mohair

Willow & Lark Plume

A silk mohair blend in hazy shades, with fabulous drape and swish – exquisitely soft, elegant and romantic. Plume’s fine, delicate twist is perfect on its own or combined with Ramble or Woodland.  A dream for shawls and scarves, favourite cardies and jumpers.

Woodland, a tweed with a twist

Delicious tweed shot through with dappled neps of colour, Woodland has a twist of alpaca to give a softer handle than other tweed yarns. A must for favourite knits, jumpers you can curl into, and cardigans you won’t want to take off.  The twist is defined enough to bring plump definition to ribs and cables, in a colour palette of shades inspired by Britishness, from the rich tones Marmalade, Thunder and Thistle Bud to bright Foxglove and Bluebell – and the exquisitely whimsical Plover Grey and Rolled Oats.

Woodland’s patterns have been inspired by nature, from the simples stripes of Emily in Spiced Plum and Thistle Bud, to the Fair Isle delights of the Samantha and Georgina jumpers and their scarves and hats to match.  The men are not forgotten with the stoic Edward Jumper, a perfect gift to knit for Christmas – and Juliet is a cardigan you won’t want to be without when the chill descends.

Which will you try first?
