Need to make a last-minute gift? We’ve found you some fabulously fast patterns to knit for all the family!
You know what happens – suddenly you need to make a last-minute gift, and fast! From little mitts to tiny socks, we’ve found five FREE patterns that you can whip up in an afternoon!
These really ARE the simplest mittens to knit! They are knit in the round, on DPNs or long circulars if you prefer the magic loop method, and the pattern includes instructions for 4ply, DK, aran/worsted and chunky weight yarn, so you can just dive into your stash and find something lovely to knit an emergency gift pair! Sizes included: toddler, child, adult S, M and L.
Sarah K’s fabulous Fittleworth Cowl is such a fun knit, using sport weight yarn – but you could switch for DK or worsted/aran if you have some in your stash. It uses the simple slip stitch colour technique, which is a great introduction to working two colours, and you only work one colour at a time. If you can knit and purl in the round, this is a great project for you!
These teeny weeny socks are perfect for very new babies and preemies, or somebody’s little teddy or doll! Knitted flat, they take no time at all and are perfect for using up scraps in your stash! To make them bigger, increase the yarn weight and needle size! You could make a selection of tiny Christmas socks or a pair for every day of the week!
You’ll knock up this little double moss stitch beanie in an afternoon – it’s a gorgeously textured stitch that will trap the warm air and keep heads extra warm! All you need is one ball of Paintbox Yarns Simply Aran yarn, making this a very affordable gift to make indeed!
Children will be very glad to get this little crayon caddy, especially if you pop a nice selection inside before you wrap it up! What a sweet stocking gift too!
What will you be knitting for last minute gifts?
