This week we take a look at the Jimmyboy Trust, which raises funds for Cardiomyopathy UK in honour of James Baker. Read on to see the creative ways that the charity raises money, and to find out how you can help.
First set up in 2009, the Jimmyboy Trust is named in memory of James Baker, who used the handle “Jimmyboy” on the Cardiomyopathy UK forums. His mother and aunt help to raise money in his name to give to Cardiomyopathy UK, “The Heart Muscle Charity.” LoveKnitting was happy to donate some boxes of yarn, which have been knitted into the great projects you see in this post. All of the baskets of toys will be sold at two craft fairs this year, The Guildford High Street on the 1st of July and The Detling Showground on November 3rd – 5th.
If you’d like to donate, a Justgiving page was set up here by James’ wife, and if you have yarn you would like to donate, please leave a note in the comments and we will connect you with the trust. You can read more about cardiomyopathy here. If you’re anywhere near the craft fairs in Guildford or Maidstone in England, make sure you stop by and say hi to the Jimmyboy Trust, and maybe buy a basket of toys!
